Business Rates - Freedom of Information Requests

Tendring District Council receives a number of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests of a similar nature for information which relate to business rate accounts (non-domestic properties).  To address these requests the council will publish the following csv data sheet which covers the most commonly requested information such as:

  • Full list of all commercial properties within the Tendring District including rateable value for 2010 and 2017 as well as the property description
  • Empty Properties
  • Mandatory and Discretionary relief
  • New accounts

Following the Information Commissioner's Office decision notice in February 2017 (link below) we will no longer publish Business Rates credits and will exempt these requests under section 31(1)(a) of FOIA.

The following csv data sheet will be updated each month and can be downloaded for sorting or filtering for your requirements.  In accordance with Part II, Section 40 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, personal identifiers have been redacted to protect the privacy rights of individuals as set out in the Data Protection Act 2018.  Account references have also been excluded as they form part of our account holder verification checks.
