We are currently experiencing intermittent issues with public access, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.Brook Country Park is located between the A133 and London Road Roundabout, Clacton. The total area of the park is approx 14 hectares of rough grassland with scattered blocks of young trees. The park provides informal, quiet countryside recreation for the public and contributes towards the bio-diversity of the area.
There are a network of grass paths throughout the park and an all-weather access path for less mobile visitors, which can be accessed via the main entrance car park in Britton Way. Picnic tables and benches are located across the park.
Brook Country Park was officially opened on 23rd June 2010 by John Hall, Director of Essex Wildlife Trust. Children from Great Clacton Church of England Junior School were invited along to plant shrubs and trees at the site (see above photograph).
A maze planted in 2010 is located in the centre of the park, made from hornbeam with 2 willow archway entrances and a bench in the centre, for those who can find their way there! A selection of wooden animal sculptures are located close to the main entrance for children and visitors to enjoy.
Wildlife
Brook Country Park is home to and a visiting ground for a variety of wildlife including birds, rabbits, foxes, muntjac deer, voles, mice and a variety of insects. Four ponds have been created in naturally wet areas of the park which attract dragonflies, diving beetles and other pond life. Trees are important to the park and it is home to species such as oak, ash, hornbeam, larch, pine, beech, alder and willow. The park is also home to a wildflower meadow and an enclosed wild flower garden.
Walking your dog in the park
Dogs are welcome in the park but please act as a responsible dog owner by:
- keeping your dog on a lead or under close control at all time;
- clearing up your dogs mess. Please use the litter bins located throughout the park to dispose of any wrapped dog mess
Dog Free Zone
A Dog Free Zone has been created at Brook Country Park. A special area in the centre of the park containing picnic benches and litter bin has been fenced off to exclude dogs, with the exception of guide dogs and assistance hearing dogs. Dogs are welcome in other parts of the park.

Car Park
The car park is located at the main entrance of Brook Country Park in Britton Way opposite Tesco's. Disabled parking is available. Parking and access to the park is free.
The car park opening times are: (7 days a week)
- 8am - 6pm 1st November - 31st April
- 8am - 9pm 1st May - 31st October

Brook Country Park is located on the outskirts of Clacton, between the A133 and London Road Roundabout. It is opposite Tesco's/Brook Retail Park in Britton Way.

By car: From the A12 slight left onto A120, follow the A133 towards Clacton on Sea until you reach the Brook Retail Park Roundabout and take the 1st exit (Britton Way). The car park entrance will be on your left.
By bus: There are frequent bus services that run to Clacton/Brook Retail Park from Clacton (Headingham No 137, First Bus Company No 5/5A), For more information on timetables please contact First Group and Headingham.
By train: The nearest train station to the park is Clacton on Sea which is approx 1.5 miles away. Headingham bus No 137 runs from Clacton Rail Station to Brook Retail Park twice hourly.
