Doing Business with the Council

Procurement

Procurement is the method by which all goods, services and works are acquired. This includes everything from day to day purchases of consumables through to the acquisition of strategic services and works irrespective of value. The Procurement section provides support and advice across the Council in this area, including use of Contracts Finder, the Marketplace on-line ordering system and Constructionline.

Current opportunities will be published here as and when they become available.

Contracts Finder

Tendring District Council uses Contracts Finder to publish notices with links to specifications and documents uploaded on to this page (see Current Opportunities heading above).

Contracts Finder is the Government’s one stop shop for suppliers to find new procurement opportunities totally free of charge.  It is part of the Government's commitment to being transparent and new Public Contracts Regulations. The Public Contracts Regulations require most public sector bodies to advertise new opportunities and contract award information on to Contracts Finder so that all suppliers have better, more direct access to Public Sector work.

Contracts Finder allows users to view and search the Government's pipelines of potential procurement activity and awarded contracts.  It has the facility to publish information relating to pre-procurement dialogue.

Tendring District Council is a member of the Procurement Agency for Essex (PAE). The PAE represents Essex local authorities, Essex County Fire & Rescue Service and Community Housing Associations.
