Fossils at Walton on the Naze

The Nazeman Education Trust provides a free "ID and bag it" service for all fossils that are found at the Naze, Walton. Go to them if you think you have found a fossil and they will tell you whether it is one, date it, name it and tell you if it's a derived London Clay or Red Crag fossil. They will place it in a bag for you to take home and treasure.

They also provide free 10-15 minute chats about the area and its fossils with a look at the fossils you may find here. This is a great chance for children to see, feel and experience fossils close up, with a brief guide on how to find fossils and how to look for them safely on Walton beaches.

The stall is beside the Naze links cafe (CO14 8LE) at The Naze, Walton and is open during the summer months.  The stall is weather dependent, so during periods of heavy rain and on windy days they may not be open. To avoid disappointment phone before journeying out.
